I had a cruise up the #Canal to #Selby with my new #WierdBoat friends today. After living in the lock house the other end, and regularly walking the #Towpath, for 8+ years it was an amazing to see it from a new perspective.
Loads of ducks, a couple of swan families and Heron were my hi-lights. And I got to open a swing bridge!

Looking at these byelection results, it seems to me that the 'swing' is down to Tory-right-or-wrong voters staying at home. They're still there, folks, grinding their teeth over the Daily Mail at the breakfast table.

What stands out for me is the more than 10% Green vote in Somerton and Frome, with zero campaigning, and a tacit endorsement of tactical voting for the LibDems.

They even cut the applause of the audience! And the eurosport people could not see how Selby drank some water, sat down, then got up as the audience would not stop to roar, and then joked with them, mimiking a la-ola-wave. Happy as nuts!

Now, isn’t that the case with all the top players *at their best*? Well, with some for sure, but I don’t think there is anyone as well-balanced as #Selby. Higgins may come closest, in my opinion - is it only a coincidence, that he’s also a player some don’t find very „exciting“ to watch? #Selby at his best - and I don’t refer to his maximum here - is just great to watch. He plays fluently, is a master at these little cannons to develop the balls, and if he needs/decides to play safe, it’s not at all a defensive move. If Selby is at his best - which he clearly was at yesterday evening’s session - you can witness all aspects of the game played to near perfection. Maybe second to none. #snooker #WorldSnookerChampionship
