Some #sacred #moss traces the words carved into this recumbent gravestone outside #SelbyAbbey #Church in #EastYorkshire. I suppose that the moisture held in the carved depressions that form the letters has encouraged the moss to do its stuff. #Mosstodon #gravestone #memory #writing

Enjoyed sketching in Selby Abbey this morning with Urban Sketchers Yorkshire. Couldn’t figure the perspective. The east end seemed to be at a different angle to the nave. Later found an old plan online. The whole east end is at a slightly different angle to the nave. Still a beautiful building.
