This is what it looks like to organize one conference #SeleniumConf and participate simultaneously in another #ScanAgile as a speaker. It makes me feel like I am insufficient as I do not want to travel while getting some of the good without travel. And I am totally enjoying the peeks to what goes on there that social media and friends who travel affords.

As the workshop day is ending at #SeleniumConf Chicago, I wish everyone great time at the two conference days. Even the small participation I had on organizing has been a rollercoaster ride with lack of timely visas for international speakers, cancelled and rerouted flights and all that. Now that it’s ON I wish great collaborations for the lovely open source community that comes together.

I wish people would register in large groups and quantities, and not share a slice of always happening organiser stress on participants coming in. I gave up #EuroTestingConf to never think about it again.

I should emphasize, you don't need to pay money out of pocket to participate. We have mechanisms of booking travel with you, and have already reserved spots at the conference hotel. This matters to me. <3

Conferences, even when they are not #PayToSpeak, do this so wrong. 1300 euros out of pocket to get back in 6 months is a no go for a single parent of two, and is equally bad for two person families where each makes half of what I make. We have structural issues that make conference speaking inaccessible to many.

For #SeleniumConf we had @conservancy totally getting this and booking flights in pair booking calls with speaker to avoid the out of pocket impact.
