The most important thing to remember about #Autopilot is that it does not turn your #Tesla into a #SelfDrivingCar. Autopilot is still classified as a Level 2 #AutonomousDriving and many of its features are still in beta.
A fully autonomous car, that has no option for driver input, is classified as a Level 5 system.
Last year a German Court ruled that the name ‘Autopilot’, as well as other Tesla marketing material, was misleading.

I don't like when I see analysis like this one. It only considers the added computing consumption but totally ignores possible savings in emissions by autonomous vehicles being a lot more efficient than human drivers.

This is a completely bonkers take on driver monitoring. If anything, the more miles one has behind the wheel with a driver monitoring system, the more vigilant and strict the driver monitoring system should become to prevent the driver from defeating the monitoring.
But sure, turn off the the bare minimum of driver monitoring once a driver hits 10k miles, that makes sense.
