My #school is fully dependent on #edupage / #windows10 / #office365, which is not a reliable solution in the long term, obviously, since #Microsoft can shut down Windows and Office whenever they like, and aSc, the company behind EduPage, can go bankrupt anytime, since they're headquartered in Bratislava.

fell a little flat on my face with #alpine. It felt a bit foreign but loved minimalist aspect to it. Banged my head for a couple hours and got to a place to install #lxd and it won't join the cluster. Something.. Something!! errors!!! lxd packages for #alpine feel like a miss match for what i have for snap on ubuntu.. I guess I have to try #debian now. Killed several hours on the #homelab and no further for it 🤨 😀

At this point, I am #selfhosting:
- my blog (k3d+#istio+hugo)
- my vpn/adblocker (tailscale + #adguardhome on #rpi4 running #nixos)
- my music collection (navidrome on rpi4)
- local #llm (mix of vps, local vm, still experimenting here)

I also have an #oss smartwatch that I patched here and there, and were selfhosting my #mastodon instance for a few weeks.

I really enjoy the fact I can customize all this to my liking and having this kind of #privacy

#DisasterRecovery test since 4AM... #workfromhome 100%

On top of it all, #Docker updates/migration, #patchSunday while waiting for the #DR to complete.

Just noticed that since I moved my hobby website (free chatrooms) out of the cloud and back home to save 10$/month, bing (and duck duck go) seem to have completely delisted me... Either they discriminate by ip, or they just toyed with AI

still on the first page on google, but it list the website with "www" in the front (which display the last chatroom instead of the frontpage) #seo sucks

Burning my brain trying to understand #Docker to run my own private instance of #BookStack and about half the time Terminal tells me I did it and the other half Terminal tells me I don’t belong here, go away. I really don’t need to do this, I just want to see if I can. I can’t. 😩 #SelfHosting

The #homelab been kicking my ass all day!!! Lost a #proxmox host, bad ram.. maybe! Took out a stick and things came back, lost a #lxd host, couldn't get it back. Need to rebuild my 3rd #lxd host as well as add ram to my #proxmox host. Currently having an internal debate if I really need to add ram, or am i using this as an excuse to spend more money!

I should buy more ram right.. some one tell me to buy more ram!!! 😂

The other way around would work too.
I basically want redundancy (eventually I’d like to have my own #GitLab instance).

But I don’t want to leave #GitHub, it has a big and active community and lots of nice tools.
It’s just in case Microsoft decides to do anything funny with it in the future.

I've been running nextcloud for..... 10 years now? And owncloud before that.

Some gotchyas, and had a few frustrating updates (last bunch have been painless tho).

Don't pile in too many apps on a pi, it can definitely get bogged down. Avoid photos/video streaming/media via the Web app itself

I run it in docker, but made some mods to the container because it makes a few really stupid design decisions.

(I am a Sysadmin for my job tho)

Just setup a #NextCloud instance on my #RaspberryPi. Now my question is: do I trust this (and myself) to use it as a main anything? Or is it just a toy? Should I just subscribe to a managed instance? I think I don't to manage my own instance.
