It's important to recognize that everyone's journey with #autism identification is different. Some may identify strongly with their diagnosis and use it as a source of pride and community, while others may prefer to see it as just one aspect of their identity and prefer non-identification. I've been arguing for over twenty years (to anyone who would listen, and almost no one gets it) that the key to the perennial paradoxes of #Consciousness, #SelfIdentity, and #FreeWill—and fundamental to a coherent #Metaethics—is understanding the relationship of the observer to the observed, especially when the observer _is_ the observed.

Now I have some reading to catch up on.

@jewterpretor is a somebody who grew up #Muslim still Muslim even if they haven't attended an iftar in a decade? Could be! All of them have #cultural elements as well, and the particular use of #Secular is more often externally-imposed than objective.

Depending on their country, the #community in which they grew up, their #SelfIdentity, and in what context.
