On the plus side, they phoned me back the next day and had assessment availability the day after that. I just need to do a second, longer, assessment (oops?) as well now before we start properly, but they could fit me in for that next week.

Last time (2019-2020) it took 2 weeks to get a callback, then wait a month for assessment, then wait 15 weeks to begin counselling, so they've sped things up considerably!

Heads up to anyone trying to do a self-referral on the #NHS to a mental health service (at least in #Nottinghamshire) the seemingly only way to do this is to simulate a conversation with a #chatbot, including waiting for it to "type". It engages in pointless small talk too, for extra insult to injury. It would have been at least 4x quicker to fill out the same information as a multipart form!
