Cutting Tools for Self-Reliance 🗡️

In your pocket:

A jackknife, aka 'folder'. A handy tool for everyday carry. In the wild, it can be used for cutting rope, skinning game, or cleaning fish.

In your belt pouch:

A carving jack, for woodcarving, spoon carving, whittling. Not strictly necessary, but good if you've got some time on your hands.

On your belt:

1) A fixed blade, with sheath: The original multipurpose tool. Can be used for making notches in wood, batoning wood, a throwing knife for hunting small game, field dressing, or self-defense.

2) A hatchet (belt axe) or tomahawk, for kindling firewood, clearing brush, limbing small trees or branches, or processing game.

In your pack, or at camp:

1) A hunter's axe, for felling trees and splitting firewood.

2) A hand auger, for drilling holes and making pegs for assembling any manner of things out of wood.

3) A saw, for cutting trees and logs. Main saw types are a bow saw, folding saw or flexible saw. A bow saw is best left at or near camp. Folding or flexible saws are best for carrying in your pack, a folding saw being the heavier-duty option.

The solution to modern slavery and #injustice is not found in socialism, communism or any other -ism that just trades one ruler for another.

Neither is the solution to be found in organized religion and dogma that is put forth as unquestionable by the patriarchs. #fuckreligion

Nor do I think the solution is anarchism, which removes rulers but allows violent agitators a platform to achieve their ends, as I believe #nonviolence is the best course of action.

After much soul-searching, I believe the solution is radical #selfreliance and #selfsufficiency

This allows complete freedom and independence from the power structure.

Therefore, I believe the most beneficial #DirectAction to take is to constantly teach ourselves to become reliant only on our own wit and #wisdom and our own abilities.

We should be constantly sharpening and honing our survival ability, just as we would sharpen and hone a survival knife.

We should create the necessary conditions for our #survival as free individuals, just as we would create the conditions for survival of the plants and crops that would support us.

In this way, we will have true #freedom and #independence from the injustice imposed on us by those who want to keep us down.

In my own little way of thinking, I would call SUCCESS a goal post along a route of positively channelled efforts, research, planning, goal-setting, dedicated budgeting, unwavering focus, courage and confidence, die-hard perseverance, and resilience.
