We drew temporary #semicolon tattoos on each other. I know it's kind of contraindicative but genuine tattoos are expensive and we have the temp tattoo markers.

I had 24 years with her, so I'm thankful.
There are many things I didn't get to experience w her. If I dwell too much on those, it's not good for my well-being.While I think often of the past, living in the present is most important. If anything, losing her has created a gentler spirit w/in myself. She is my reminder to tread a little softer, go a bit slower, & allow myself a little more grace.

There are a few people in my life who come to mind when I think about laughing. While I love & crave solitude, I love to laugh, & laughing IMHO is best when shared with another.
So when I am laughing, as in tears are coming down my face laughing, I can't help but think of my sister ❤️

I have many letters from my sister from when I went to college out of state.
16 yrs ago I began laminating anything written by her.
Time helps ease pain, but it also dulls certain memories. I'm afraid I'll forget things pertinent to her. Protecting her handwriting feels like a time portal I can visit @ a moment's notice #semicolon #SuicideAwareness #thoughts

Hi Lisa, I am so sorry about your sister. We, too, have lost someone to suicide, our son. We miss him and think about him everyday. The holidays are a mixed emotion. We look forward to seeing our other children and grandchildren, but we miss Shawn so much. When he left us, we also lost our granddaughter temporarily, as the mother took her from us. We hope to see her again when she turns 18. So we lost a son and a granddaughter. It's hard.
