Hey ,
Any semitic language scholars out there?

I'm looking to translate Luke 18:13's phrase "God be merciful to me a sinner" into Aramaic, with something approaching period-accurate Aramaic script (whatever Unicode can handle)

I'm thinking about making a plaque for a friend.

Making syriac alphabet flash cards for my partner. They started taking an Aramaic class last week.

'[A] word which, if spelled backwards and with the change of five of its letters, becomes an unknown Sumerian word resembling a word which, if you change another five letters, means in Hebrew a cultic prostitute.'🔥🔥🔥

Possibly the best—or at least the funniest and most transparently snarky—negative scholarly review ever written. Strugnell said he wanted to entitle it ‘Fungus Dei, Miserere Nobis’, but the editor wouldn’t have it.
