Blistering through the Lieber & Stoller chestnut, “Framed,” Harvey makes it sound like the cops are the ones who should be scared. “Hammer Song” is a dynamic tour-de-force, like prog if they replaced the soy milk on the rider with a fifth of whisky. “Midnight Moses” typifies piledriver blues that is the band’s primary mode. Scotland’s finest rock band? I’ll let you haggle that one out.
