Ich frage mich, was für (selbstgesteuerte) Lernansätze es zu diesem Themenkomplex gibt, damit das Verständnis und die Fähigkeit dafür breit aufgebaut werden kann. Ein #lernOS Leitfaden gibt es ja leider (noch) nicht.

I am a fan of Dave Snowden's work, but regularly have trouble grasping the gist his content. For one thing, my English is not that strong and for another, my intellect can't keep up. Today I let ChatGPT simplify a post by Dave for a 14-year-old which worked remarkably well (I think 🙈). I guess that this approach will now allow me to follow Dave's work more often.

Finally, my years accruing useless knowledge about archaeology and folklore are paying off, though. Mostly hammering out the logic is the thing for me, I have to resist the urge to flesh out the game at this stage since it's not important to the study. It will pay off when I analyze the data.

@chriscorrigan "Actively working with constraints" can be interpreted in disempowering ways, establishing a process where decision makers are mostly separate from those who do the work of (partial) #sensemaking.

Sensemaking gets demoted to being merely a modern alternative to "reporting", effectively becoming a service to the leadership caste (which ironically claims to "serve" people). E.g. in the #EU political apparatus, we find many well-organized, exploitative programs of this character.

Yes, we need to become comfortable with uncertainty in our increasingly complex environment — in fact that should already have be the case, especially for issues that are complex enough to be 'interesting.'

And even more than being comfortable with uncertainty, we need to get much better at thinking of things in terms of likelihood and probability — even getting clear on the difference between these two terms.

So becoming comfortable with Bayesian thinking will equip us to more effectively deal with both uncertainty, and reasoning, as we try to make sense of the flood of social media, consumer-marketing, politics, and multiple flavors of bullshit.

And by the way, it also helps with the simpler, more straightforward stuff like new science, technology, and data…
