Are the #StarTrek writers under the impression that it’s NOT a field of study?

I think the #Holodeck is a cool idea, but I wish #StarTrek were a bit more consistent & clear about what qualifies as #SentientLife worthy of basic #CivilRights.

While rewatching/sharing Star Trek with my kids, I spend an awful lot of time yelling at the screen.

In “Latent Image,” why erase the Doctor’s memory (rather than, say, giving him psychological assistance to deal with choosing to save Harry)?

Why aren’t there ethicists & mental health professionals on board every ship????
