@mro Hi, Non-Techie hier, der #Seppo gerne mal ausprobieren würde. Warum sind auf der Downloadseite 4 Dateien? Brauche ich doch nicht nur die "seppo.cgi"? Wenn ich die bei mir hochlade und die Rechte setzen will, dann macht mein Hoster aus der Eingabe "555" automatisch "755". Liegt es daran, dass – wenn ich dann auf http://<example.com/WhereI/JustPutIt>/seppo.cgi gehe – einfach nur sofort ein Download anspringt und sonst nichts unter der URL erscheint? Auf Codeberg funzt der Link zur Demo nicht.

Mass high-tech solutions sharply divide the operator from the user. Low-tech solutions, however, are often #sustainable, convival, emancipatory and focus on content rather than technology. But they are hardly monetisable and therefore not available in the market or only for personal use with a clunky #UX.

Many people seek to share and publish short messages and images. This is shown by the popularity of Twitter or Instagram. The big monopolies, however, bring a lot of big problems. Even #Fediverse, as far as it consists of "small monopolies" (instances with few operators but many users) is not fundamentally immune to this.

i am thinking about pagination for https://seppo.app a lot. My current take on it is

1. page content SHOULD be immutable (except for deletions),
2. there are no edits of post, but modified re-posts plus a delete in case,
3. due to deletions page size is mutable(!), there may be degenerated empty ones,
4. numbering is reverse for stable, static page contents (as long as there are no deletes),
5. the current (most recent) page has no number
6. the current (most recent) page is always full, the 2nd (thus the most recent bearing a number) has volatile size, all others are stable.

Most I do it at https://mro.name/microblog for years now.

P.S.: works for dynamic pages, too.
