It is fascinating that we get a bunch of biological to choose from in , but no standardized terminology of their modes, or API (you can find a bewildering mix of libraries and CLI). This is gap for researchers who want to try different tools, and likely for companies in the space too. The first is the reason I am flexing my skills , leveraging the new lang features to create a standardized API for many of the recent tools. @Perl

Dear all,
analysis question: I have (smoothed) yearly %age of change in a population across US States.
See distribution, w/ blue lines for ± median and red lines for ± SD.
For sequence analysis, I need to assign values to categories, like High Growth, Moderate Growth, etc.
Questions:
1/ how should I decide on cut-off points between categories?
2/ given that pop. is mostly declining, does it make sense to have more categories for decline than for growth?
