In Nov. of this year I took a solo trip from Seattle to Orange CA & back to visit my new (only) grandson. I drove the #PCH most of the way & spent time walking among my #TreeFamily, here the #SequoiaSempervirens. I’ve been visiting these family members since the 90s & enjoy what they have to say about community, not competition. Have a gander at my trekking poles I’ve placed on the right of this tree for perspective. Even they don’t tell the size story of this gentle giant. #ThickTrunkTuesday

Just seen #ThickTrunkTuesday and felt this was worthy. A champion tree sadly felled by Storm Arwen earlier this year along with 49 others at National Trust Bodnant Gardens. It was a Sequoia sempervirens (coastal Redwood) It stood over 50 metres tall.
