Needed warm socks for the tiny human. When I searched for sewing patterns I was not pleased. So I looked at one of my hand knit socks and drafted a pattern accordingly. It went well (to my surprise! 😃)
Working with the serger is amazing. I got myself a second hand singer that was never used a few weeks ago. Still learning different methods of combining fabrics. Next to learn is an ordinary hem.

I'm stuck today with one of my late wife's tools, and I need help. The machine is a 4-thread serger with an automatic air-pressure threading system that requires the thread be initially be inserted 2cm into a small hole. The thread in the machine is polyester, and frays immediately when cut. The frayed end will NOT go into the hole. I've tried oil, water, and heat to smooth/stiffen it, all with no luck. Suggestions please!

it's only taken me buying a #sewing machine, a #serger, the patterns, every piece of #fabric I caught an emotional attachment to, spools of #thread I will probably never use, a roller cutter, board, iron, multiple types of rulers, more patterns that I haven't even opened yet, interfacing, pinking shears, pins, at least one #emotional breakdown, storage containers, and 4 or 5 failed attempts to makes these #dinosaur #plushies for my nephews for *way cheaper* than I could've bought them.

My thirty year old serger (Bernette 335) still works! I think the last time I used it was when I tested it after moving into this house.

Hi any #sewing experts on here? We got an #overlocker / #serger Amber S100 from @HusqvarnaViking@twitter.com and we've unpacked and set it up but the wheel won't turn at all, it feels locked, are we supposed to unlock or remove something?

I did it I rethreaded my serger! The most intimidating sewing machine on earth!

(What you need to know; it's not that hard. There's helpful diagrams behind the protective flap, and YouTube tutorials to the rescue. But sergers are presented as Very Complicated, and that makes my anxiety spike.)
