Today Bing was testing a more subtle version of mentioned verification icon for top results: "Official".

Today Bing seems to be quite busy testing small verification icons for the top results.
I have seen 4 different versions that differ in icon shape or placement. When hovering the mouse over, "Official site" or "Verified site" was displayed.
As only the top result in this test was awarded this batch, this might give a little extra boost to the CTRs.

Here's a little ditty that might interest a few folks out here in the Wild, Wild, #Fediverse...
It's a Brave Search add on for your browser of choice - i.e., #Vivaldi, #Chromium, #Firefox, #Edge, #Brave, #Opera, and more (oddly enough, I didn't see #Kiwi on the list).
It's called #BraveGPT and after installing it whenever you choose to use #Brave_Search it includes a sidebar with your search results from #ChatGPT along with the regular #SERPs you expect.

It's pretty new, and there's also links to other projects like a similar facility for #DuckDuckGo too.
But there's another question that this raises for myself - what happened to userscripts and greasemonkey?
Lemme know what you think, k?

Just spotted a "Trivia" test on #Bing. So, they might be pushing their idea of #gamification of #SERPs further.
Upon mouseover on one of those answers they were interestingly showing some filter-related mention of conversational search in the URL (see highlight).

Even though #AI chat is not available to the general public on #Bing yet, machine learning is making inroads on the #SERPs. For some search terms #Microsoft is displaying an element called "Story & audio", which is AI-generated.
It is kind of a slide show, where the text on the slides is read by an artificial voice. The sources for the content are listed below. A click on those is bringing you (via Bing) to the respective websites.

#Bing has introduced a new element on their image #SERPs called "My Feed".
It allows to like images (and videos) or - under a three-point icon - to dislike or report them. Over time this most probably will customize your feed.
So, maybe we are seeing here another example of applied #AI, as Bing is trying to become something more than a #SearchEngine.

#Bing is testing a small overlay icon for images on #SERPs. Contrary to former behavior a click on images is opening up an overlay, where you are offered several options to proceed (similar to the screen shown if clicking on a result for an image search on Bing).
Usually clicks on images next to snippets are bringing you directly to the respective website. So this seems to be another attempt to keep users longer in the ecosystem of search engines. Potentially bad news for website owners.
#SEO is a ploy invented by #Google to get #websites to fill out endless questionnaires so they can learn more about them and improve their #search engine results pages (#SERPs).
What is #SEO, and how can it help my #website rank higher in #search engine results pages?
