@wogan, @hnygd What have I learned? 🧵
I should treat #admins not as faceless #moderators but as friendly hosts, and not mess up their place! The #ServerRules are obviously essential, but it's easy to cause problems even if I stay inside the rules.
Blocking trolls works well, but in order to protect my followers I need the admins' involvement. So that adds work for a couple of busy people, which isn't kind.

DON'T BE A DICK. Don't post incoherent sentences. Don't just link elsewhere without context or description. Don't use excessive tagging. Don't be repetitive. Don't be the one that upsets the delicate calm of the admins, for they are subtle and quick to anger.
NO SPAM. This server is not meant as an advertisement channel for your company, your crypto currency scam, your YouTube channel or anything along those lines. If you're trying to sell something or lure someone in, you're in the wrong place.
So when will server rules on the fediverse be updated to exclude posts and comments generated by AI?

The original account on mastodon.social was #suspended despite entirely adhering to the #serverrules. The explanation given directly contradicts the evidence given. An #appeal was left unanswered. Administrators are probably finding out now the issues with running and instance, hosting content and the implications of both.
So much for the glorious new era of #Mastodon. It's already about as arbitrary as #Twitter and everything else.

Do our Mastodon #ServerRules count as our #TermsOfService ?
I'm trying to figure out if there are gaps in how we're protecting our users and our mod team.
Also thinking about privacy & security concerns that might make people pause when considering joining Mastodon or the Fediverse.
