Oh and ""#webscraping"" ?
Ha ha.. Ha.
#Let s use a #headless #browser because, #this * !

Have fun with #serverside #NodeJS or #PHP (which will require #root access wee)
Wtf.

Then again.
I don't exactly need to visit this one often.

Y) use a #webSocket (#APIGateway supports these) #stream new data as it arrive. If #API you're using supports #webSockets you can also set up #serverSide #socket connections that stream new data from the origin servers in #realTime
#realtime #socket #serverside #websockets #api #stream #APIGateway #websocket
@Ciela Exactly!
This is why convenient #MusicStreaming like #AppleMusic is nowadays the norm, because shitty #CopyProtection always harms only #TechIlliterates & legit buyers!
IMHO the only (legal!) way to fix this is to refuse to buy anything that utilizes #DRM - espechally in #SinglePlayer...
I can at least accept #ServerSide - #AntiCheat in in #compettive #Multiplayer games like #CSGO but I'd not accept that claim of "fairness" in Stuff like #VRchat where there's no Cheating in that sense.
#VRChat #CSGO #multiplayer #compettive #anticheat #serverside #singleplayer #DRM #TechIlliterates #copyprotection #AppleMusic #musicstreaming
@Catchy @fuchsiii @ActionRetro I mean, #AntiCheat as it's effective (only #ServerSide can be!) does exist and can be very effective...
I think #clientside #Javascript wins for most usecases as you don't need a #special #website \ #webserver..
But I like #linking to #phps or perhaps make their #output #download as #blob ..
Guess thats how things are.
Noway am I gonna rely on #serverside #languages...
#CORS be damned !
#love #php #clientside #javascript #special #website #linking #phps #output #download #blob #serverside #languages #cors #codealcea #webserver
@oliphant Yeah, but that's just inherent to the nature.
In fact, @fuchsiii showed me some interesting #ServerSide #JavaScript stuff that basically loads thumbnails and stores them on the server, so there's no embedded video but people get directly forwarded to the source video instead...
Until they click that link, no data is transmitted to Google and only then do people get sent to the video directly...
No embedding whatsoever!
@gamingonlinux Yeah, that makes it a #CantBuy, since #AntiCheat should only exist on #Multiplayer and #competitive titles and be done #ServerSide-only!
#serverside #competitive #multiplayer #anticheat #cantbuy

So people are saying tRPC is better than GraphQL in typescript world.
I havent used it but what are your thoughts ๐

@cupcakezealot The barrier of entry to the #ServerSide seems considerably lower with #Friendica than with any of the other #Fediverse things (all the rest of which require root access to a server afaik), and for that reason I'm hoping Friendica will catch on, but the number of active Friendicans (English speaking, anyway) doesn't seem to me to be anywhere near a #CriticalMass. #Mastodon, OTOH, is really hitting its stride.

> But #JavaScript-dependent #ClientSideSearch on #StaticSites still seems lacking vs. #ServerSide #Search
Why do you think so? I use https://lunrjs.com/ for my searching my static site and it works fine for me.

Funny circle:
Begin #blogging w/ #database-backed #CMS like #WordPress
Have epiphany that #blogs can be generated w/ #StaticSiteGenerator like #Zola (#Rust) / #Hugo / #Slick (#Haskell)
Realize repetitive data like #tags & hierarchical data like #categories lend selves to #rdbms
Try to find ways to improve on #SSG that can use #SQLite (for #taxonomies, posts or both) e.g. #Django-Distill

@CyberKitsune sadly, forcing #AntiCheat into a non-competitive #Metaverse that most users can only use by modding away it's #VR requirements killed it for me.
Were it some Multiplayer-FPS like #Onward, I'd support #Serverside-AntiCheat just to stop skiddies from ruining everyone's experience.

#LunchBreakFOSS I think Noze.io has been the first larger #ServerSide project Iโve been working on (I did the tiny SwiftyHTTP before). It is now outdated/replaced by Macro.swift, but still features something nothing fully implemented in Macro: the type safe Node.js v3 (pull) streams, which I like a lot. Itโs from way before SwiftNIO existed and is using GCD for asynchronous I/O.
I learned a lot from the mistake I made w/ that, e.g. don't split into too many modules!

The #serverside #swift conference today at the Science Museum was held < 50m from where I began studying my undergrad on Imperial College campus almost exactly 20 years ago.
My past self 20yrs ago would not have believed theyโd get to nerd out about #linux stuff to an #apple oriented receptive audience some day. I am not sure my present self believes my luck either.
Super inspired to keep hacking on esp the #snap packaging of Swift dev tools & Snap plugin for Swift.
