So, 3 years on, I guess I should probably get myself certified in some way...

However, it does mean I need to reduce my workload so I can actually dedicate time to it rather than sit an exam I'm unprepared for. I can't assume my day-job covers the curriculum..

the other reason that I think thatt this is a good idea is that there are software that works well that if it were in more businesses it would assist in lowering the unemployment rate among us. @podcast mastodon.au/@cjsims3000/110867

@chelming You can also use GlideRecord.get() with parameters - either:
.get('sysid')
or
.get('uniquefield','uniquevalue')
It's got a narrower use-case since you can only call a single field. I've used it most often with the 'number' field on task/incident/etc.

after 9-10 hour scan exports last week, usually not even finishing... our instance has finally decided to cooperate and finish exports in the normal 5-15 minutes.

so glad i can *actually* pull data into prod now.

Sure <table>.list is great, but did you know about <table>.filter? It takes you to the list view BEFORE LOADING ANY DATA. Fantastic for those larger tables (like deleted records).

So to recap:
<table>.list - Open the list of records for the table
<table>.form or <table>.do - Open the form/new record
<table>.filter - Open the list with no query
<table>.config - Open "Configure All" page that includes business rules, client scripts, etc.

Bonus: .LIST (all caps) opens in a new tab!

I think I've complained about this before, but defaulting to >= for a text based search field is baffling to me.

oh my god, the reason I never see eye to eye with SAP folks in relation to ITIL and is that they have their own definition and application for "request for change" which comes into conflict with ServiceNow's "change request". 👀 An SAP RfC is more like a Demand in that it must be assessed and prioritized for execution.

After going through thousands of lines of code to refactor and pull in code from plug-in devs I pushed the changes in and it didn’t work. Troubleshoot, revert and try again in the morning. I think I figured out the issue (sneaky dependency change) but have to start fresh with it in the morning. Worst case I start over and refactor again. No huge deal.
