Michelangelo seemed to believe the true tragedy of a life is setting goals too easily attainable & then resting on our laurels. Is the key, then, finding a balance between pride in what you HAVE accomplished while leaving yourself OPEN TO, but not OBSESSED WITH, going even higher?

Personally, I have set and reached many goals in my life & found that once achieved I tended to lose interest. So when began drumming regularly I set a goal immediately & when I reached it
I was proud of myself! But this time I didn't stop or pull back. Instead, I added more classes, found a way to increase practice time, added a bunch more classes, & I achieved my next goal and my next & I'm currently working on my next.

Now I realize that, while I wasn't aware of this Michelangelo meme, I have been DOING what the quote is talking about-setting goals NOT as final destinations, but maybe only rest stops!

Since I have been in #keith, lot of time to think about next year. Build a better me! There are so much good advice in it. Last time I cleaned up my stuff, I found a notebook in which I've made some of the exercice from the ebook and it was very funny to see some of my long term goals like getting tatoo or exercising had become reality since :hammyblush: #SettingGoals #Goals #Inspiration
