Since privatisation Water Utilities have accrued £54bn in debt. In the same time they have paid out over £65.9bn to shareholders in dividends.
Fully expecting Water Utilities to (quietly) announce a further £11bn in payments to shareholders in the not so distant future.

Interesting #sources for my #EnvHist / #UrbEnvHist / #UrbHist #Dissertation. I am currently revising - i.e. shortening - the part on the first master plans for the #WaterSupply & #Sewerage sector in #SãoPaulo. In addition, I still have to translate some quotations (🇧🇷 > 🇩🇪) and find suitable #translations that even @histodons without a degree in engineering might understand 🙈
