Tried to create a Twitter too, but got restricted, although I'm sure Musk would love to have chat about sexism in tech on his platform 😂 #sexismintech
Lol this is legitimately true. Thank goodness I can spend time on a platform that allows me my feminist voice instead!

I use my PC every day, and we’ve *already* discussed the fan – couldn’t my partner have taken a second to infer that I obviously know what the fan normally sounds like so if I say it sounds very sick, I mean beyond what we’ve explicitly discussed? Couldn’t my friend’s husband have accepted my literal pointing to the right charger even if I don’t know the right name for the charger type?
In short, couldn’t they have treated me like a competent adult in everyday technological use? This isn’t even #SexismInTech, it’s, what? The basic low-grade #sexism of being a quietly-spoken woman talking to men who assume, subconsciously, that they’re more competent than me in anything that even slightly touches on IT? I really feel like the conversations would have gone differently if my partner and my friend’s husband had been talking to each other.
These are just two examples. I’m a bit tired of having to be very precise in how I communicate to try to head off these sorts of conversations.
