Heads up that they're repaving the hill on Page above Divis and there are some big bumps #sfbike
.@JeffreyTumlin on a potential fatality on the #ValenciaStreet center bike lanes: "If there was nothing that we could do about it, we would do nothing." Yikes. https://streamable.com/nu80ao

Car-free 18th Street let's go!!! #SFBike #SFPol #carFree
This makes so much sense to make permanent. It's one of the busiest pedestrian areas in the Mission. The sidewalks between #ValenciaStreet and #DoloresPark are always overcrowded.

Connie Chan seems interested in maybe considering doing something to make the Arguello bike lanes protected, we're trying to put pressure on her to follow through
Aside from SFMTA, what would be the major obstacles in making Arguello a protected bike lane? Is this at all in the works or has it ever been?
I'd also love to see improvements on 8th Avenue - I was biking there yesterday and it was not great - but I think ultimately both are needed. I see a lot of older people riding bikes on the sidewalk on Arguello and I can't blame them
One thing I noticed about the general southwest part of the city is that whenever there was a protected bike lane, there was someone walking in it.
This seems to reflect gaps in safe and especially accessible walking infrastructure, but got me wondering about mixed use paths.
Today was not a great day for biking on Better Market Street. Impatient city vehicles + busses + streetcars that can't move + construction barricades that mean you can't even move out of the street + lots of emergency vehicles is not a great combination . At least there are no private vehicles but I can tell you, having a combined bike/emergency vehicle lane on Valencia will not work. They will definitely use it all the time and cars will definitely not move out of the way

I'll be at #JfkPromenade near the 8th Avenue entrance at 11 am on Saturday Nov 26th. Come by and say hi and hang out. If you haven't met your Internet friends IRL yet, this is a good chance to do so!
I'm hoping this goes well and can be a regularly scheduled thing (though it might be a bit quiet this weekend cause of Thanksgiving).
There's a chance I'll make and bring homemade cookies.
If you don't bike, the 44 and the 5 are the closest buses (and the park shuttle).
