I think the trouble with #boosting is it has a similarity to either /or voting. Yuck, either/or voting is as dumb as a box of rocks! There's no nuance. We see others on network largely by what makes it past their boost filter settings in their brains. I've decided to me a boost means this should be assessed or seen not that I stand behind this with all the conviction and logic I have. Others #policy and interpretations vary and so a general light confusion exists. Cognitive dissonance related to this light confusion may inhibit sharing in unwanted ways. Difficult or sensitive topics go unnecessarily dark with the timid and careful booster.They wisely protect a desired image projected to their followers with the go/ no go filter even though that's not an accurate representation of their feelings. Maybe #developers will someday provide more informative and nuanced ways to share info and spread ideas.
