The reason the Board of Supervisors wants - needs - to repeal the code that prohibits city government entities from doing business with companies based in states with laws that discriminate against LGBTQ+ persons, restrict access to abortion or make it difficult to vote is that this now includes a significant percentage of the United States.
Reflect on that. We can no longer attempt to enforce our principles... because two much of the country is moving directly, do not pass go, do not collect $200, to authoritarian Christo-fascism.
Standing up for LGBTQ+, women and voting is just too expensive and onerous for the City to continue doing so.
