There are still a few things that I miss now that I removed #NextCloud for a fully #SSH / #SFTP solution. Especially when working with a #Windows workstation. But that would probably also be the case with #macos.

[Help!] Wenn ich mit FreeFileSync via SFTP eine Datei in den consume-Pfad auf dem Raspberry Pi überspiele, so reagiert Paperless-ngx nicht. Benenne ich diese um, so reagiert Paperless sofort. Auch Kopiervorgänge von einem anderen Verzeichnispfad oder über das Web-Frontend funktionieren tadellos.
Nur die SFTP-Übertragung lässt Paperless kalt ... Irgendeine Idee?

@wa7iut @nixCraft OFC one may just need a convenient way to sent files, and https://oshi.at as well as https://wsend.net may be viable options to do so.

Otherwise I found the most convenient solution is to just use a #ThinClient, put @ubuntu #UbuntuServer LTS [or any #Linux #Server #distro really] on and just provide file access per #SFTP.

It's literally how I sync shit.

Bonus point: At 10W max this is affordable even at absurd electricity prices like in Germany...

Fun fact: one of the main reasons I am getting #PlexPass is because of the #PLEX proxy; I will be moving out of my parents' home eventually, and the #PLEX proxy only lets you stream in SD. I can't guarantee in whatever apartment building I end up that I'll be able to do port forwarding, for a proper direct stream setup like I have now

Unfortunately though, I will still need to find my own solution for my accompanying #SFTP server, I use that to upload movies and shows to the #PLEX server

#dar 16/ I almost forgot performance. dar is multithreaded, in both compression and encryption, for all algorithms (it will compress by block, with a configurable block size, when multithreaded.) Finally, it has a remote target that can run over ssh and let dar request and receive specific chunks of a dar archive located on a remote system. It also integrates libcurl, so can operate over #sftp and all sorts of other protocols directly as well.

@lewdthewides Yeah... with #sftp servers supporting #LDAP + #Kerberos and #Wormhole existing, I just can't find myself being particularly sympathetic to them.

There was absolutely no reason to use some #proprietary service for it.
