I worked out what was going on with my Same Game bug. At least on my test device, #KaiOS limits how many times you can call CanvasRenderingContext2D.fillRect() in rapid succession. Same Game was exceeding that limit and so the later rectangles we just not appearing.
I thought of a wide variety of complicated ways to work around this limit, but there was a simple one: make Same Game use rectangles more efficiently.
This is a weird bug in Same Game on #KaiOS. On the 20 × 15 grid, only the first 211 squares get drawn. That number varies a little with the grid size (212 on 20 ×14 and 20 × 13; 213 on 20 × 12). I've found lots of things that aren't the problem, but what's going wrong still eludes me.
