Context: there are a number of conspiracies against the Duergar King Hezlop, and the Adventure is about escaping thru a forsaken ward of his city. Conspirators of these factions are present there, plus a ruined hideout of one.

Over all, it was a fun session, my players enjoyed it and said it was a nice diversion from 5E and they were surprised at how squishy they were compared to 5E. I think the only disappointment was the limited number of ancestry and class choices they had, so I think if I decide to run a full blown campaign, I will need to include some mix of rules from Unnatural Selection and Into the Shadowlands.

The second half of the game, I introduced a bunch of NPC's and conducted a typical bar fight, just so we could get use to combat and such. Next game is going to a Rats in the Cellar style game, and then they will have a choice of a heist style adventure or the Scarlet Minotaur, the decision on which to do will be up to them.

I ran my first game of #Shadowdark last Saturday night. I placed in the Gloaming as it is a good solid sandbox for a 4 game campaign.

The first half of the game was getting characters setup. We did 3d6 in order, it had been a couple of decades since we last did that and we were apprehensive about it, but with the roll until you get a character with at least one 14, worked out pretty well, after Class Talents were rolled, we even had one 18 and no one ended up with a useless character.

Argh…this is a tough one. If I take the time i actually played specific games as a measure, the answer must be: variations of #dnd, old school variants for the most part, retro clones, and modern hacks such as #TheBlackHack #DCC #ShadowDark and #FiveTorchesDeep. I also include games with recognizable #dnDNA in my most favourite-bag (#Mörkborg etc.).

COMPLEX / SIMPLE RPG you play

Probably the most complex has to be BattleTech: A Time of War. It's a little too crunchy for me and combat takes forever due to all the calculations and rule-checking. Seriously needs a decent VTT system to automate some of that (sadly there isn't one)

The most simple is probably either Shadowdark or Ironsworn.

@HeyeBodo Agreed! An absolutely unique feel and a perfect fit for the setting. Running Planescape in #ShadowDark sounds a great fit. Though, I must admit I'm tempted to try it with #Castles&Crusades for a full-on old-school feel.
