1, Fearless - primer libro de una saga: Chain of Gold, by Cassandra Clare

Hay algo que me pasa mucho con los últimos libros de Cassandra Clare: me aburre muchísimo el inicio del libro. La primer parte del libro siempre me parece un bodrio y me saca las ganas de leer. Es como que me cuesta conectar con los protagonistas y eso hace que demore bastante en conectar con la historia. De hecho eso me molesta porque es el primer libro de la saga, debería atraparme para seguir leyendo desde el inicio. Recién en la segunda mitad del libro las cosas empiezan a mejorar y volverse adictiva y los últimos capítulos son una locura que te deja con ganas de más.

La trama de los demonios a la luz del día, de James pudiendo viajar de un mundo a otro, que Cordelia también pueda viajar a ese mundo, todo eso me pareció bastante curioso. Aún así debo decir que James me causa bastante conflicto, siento que es un Herondale porque todos los Herondale tienen algún trauma y de alguna forma en lo emocional sienten que no valen y no merecen el cariño de los demás, sin embargo le falta algo para tener el encanto y atractivo típico de los Herondale. El hecho de estar tan unido a Grace tal vez hace que uno no confíe demasiado en él porque sin la influencia de Grace él es encantador y una versión bastante atractiva de sí mismo, pero con Grace se vuelve alguien repelente.

Creo que Cordelia merece más. Ella no es plato de segunda y no es justo que tenga que hacer sacrificios o hacerse más pequeña para que James se fije en ella de verdad. Hubieron varias veces en que quise golpear a Cordelia porque no soportaba ver lo mucho que se estaba rebajando o todo lo que hizo por James sin que él lo valore de verdad.

Esperemos que los próximos libros sean mejores y más atrapantes.

I finally got around to reading Chain of Iron, and the last several chapters were infuriating. The ridiculous contrivance of the miscommunication left me bewildered at the stupidity of it all. I think I'm finally over Clare's antics and will be putting Chain of Thorns on the back-burner.
