11. Game you love that needs a new edition.

#Shadowrun

It badly needs a new edition that looks backwards for inspiration because Catalyst hasn't been the best steward of the IP. I like the way limits make gear matter in 5e but other things just didn't work and 6e has flat out copy pasted rules that refer to things that don't exist anymore.

So a good 7e would be awesome.

Und die Season 1 ist damit beendet. Season 2 startet in zwei Wochen, und ich bin nicht vorbereitet!

When they came out, Bull bought me a copy of #Shadowrun 3rd edition's hardback, known as the BABY (Big All-Black Yearbook; he'd offered to buy if you sent him a money order). Years later, I sold it, which I still regret.

@FortiterGames #RPGaDay2023 Day 31: Favourite #RPG of all time.

This is hard to say, but probably #SavageWorlds. As I said earlier this month, I can't really think of anything about it that I hate.

I love #Hackmaster (the "new" edition is more than 10 years old, folks, and has been around longer than the old edition), but it's got its lumps. I grew up on #Rifts #PalladiumFantasy #Shadowrun and #2e, but I can't really go back to them.

The other thing I'm loving about Dragonfall in particular is how good a job it does of making you feel poor. Every Shadowrun campaign I've played in has felt contrived vis-a-vis the economics and lifestyles of shadowrunners. It was just dumb power fantasy stuff (still fun as fuck of course).

The one game that didn't feel like that was the one I played on a commune with a bunch of anarchists. I'd love to play SR again with people who get the social side of cyberpunk like that.

Yesterday's #RPGaDay2023 game i'd like to see a new edition of.

I think #Shadowrun is a game with a great setting and lore that's in desperate need of a great edition.

I haven't managed to get Anarchy to the table but from my read I don't think it scratches the itch quite right. I think if it did a lot more people would be talking about it.

27. Game you'd like a new edition of?

Dream Case: #MarvelHeroicRoleplaying. I know it will never happen, which is why it's my "dream case," but I'd love to see a new edition with more "Events." My favorite licensed superhero game ever.

Honorable Mention: #Shadowrun by someone other than Catalyst. Only slightly more likely to happen than my "dream case", still an extreme longshot.

27. I can't really think of any #TTRPG games that I'd like a new edition of. Most of my current favorites already have an edition I'm pretty happy with: #HeroSystem 6e is totally playable and still works fine, #Shadowrun 6e is totally uninteresting to me but I've still got a ton of 5e to play, and #DnD 5e has proven to me that I just don't like the core concepts of D&D so there's no way for a new edition to appeal to me. I'm content with my current pile of games, I suppose.

Ich habe mich damals unfassbar auf die 6. Edi gefreut und die Ankündigungen von CGL sahen vielversprechend aus. Als ich dann das Regelwerk in den Händen hielt war ich einfach maßlos enttäuscht...
EDGE hat wirklich gute Ansätze, die sich gut integrieren hätten lassen. Aber einfach so ziemlich alles darauf aufzubauen hat das Spiel einfach zerstört. [1/2]
