@AndyT @Shell I’m seconding the #AdrianTchaikovsky and #TheExpanse recommendations.

Adrian’s #ChildrenOfTime and #FinalArchitecture series are superb. If you’re interested in fantasy, his 10-book #ShadowsOfTheApt series is also excellent. That series has been described as steam punk fantasy. No elves, dragons, or wizards.

@medea You gotta listen to @aptshadow #ShardsOfEarth read by Sophie Aldred! It’s a very different experience, but amazing, somehow even weirder than #ShadowsOfTheApt, still got plenty of bugs (& crustaceans!) & so action packed. I’m relistening to his #ChildrenOfTime series right now in preparation for the third book coming out & it’s basically his #SciFi attempt to answer the “What if bugs were people & had a whole civilization that was all buggy & weird?”

Little did I know when I started listening to @aptshadow's Empire in Black and Gold that it was the first of a 10-book series!

Now, 51 days later, I've started book 6 and I can tell I'm going to miss this world when I'm done.

I’m currently reading #ShadowsOfTheApt by #AdrianTchaikovsky and am on book 7 of 10. So I’ll be on the lookout for something new whenever I finally finish.
