Going through pix I took a few weeks before my conversion to #Islam this past March, right before #Ramadan.

A subtle process that began decades ago when I read "Autobiography of #MalcolmX " came to the fore after I moved to #Granada in January, and after that it didn't take long at all for me to take the plunge.

@vogelbeere The name was suggested to me by a few brothers and sisters here in Granada, and, not knowing much of anything yet, I accepted it at my #Shahada. It's an honor that they suggested it for me, and I do feel like I need to try to live up to it!

I'll be writing more about #Sufism in coming weeks since I just started down that path very recently.
