As I have my Breakfast in a set of ordinary 'Luminarc' crockery, I can only envy #NurJahan wife of #Mughal ruler #ShahJahan who used to have her meals in the most exquisite crockery and cutlery of her time.
Like this c1600 AD 'Plate' sold by Sotheby's.
The edges have a floral design made of Gold Thread, Rubies, Emeralds and Green Glass inlay.

'The Palace of Rohtas Garh at Bihar'. #India
c1780 AD #CompanyPainting by William Daniell R.A. (1769-1837).
This Palace traces its #History to the 7th century, thanks to an inscription found here. In the 16th cent. #Mughal ruler #Akbar's Viceroy of #Bihar & #Bengal Raja Man Singh of #Jaipur #Rajasthan renovated this palace. The future Mughal ruler #ShahJahan took refuge here twice.
It was also used by the #EastIndiaCompany in the 18th cent.
An important site during the 1857 Muriny.

This #CompanyPainting dated 15th February 1880 AD is by Qudratullah of #Lucknow
He was a Draftsman at the Superintending Engineer of the Presidency & Oudh Company.
The #Painting is on paper watermarked 'J WHATMAN 1875'.

c1810 AD #CompanyPainting of 'An Elevation of the North Side of the Marble Screen Surrounding the Cenotaphs in the TajMahal #Agra'.
#TajMahal was built during 1631-1653 AD by the #Mughal ruler #ShahJahan as the final resting place of his wife #MumtazMahal and, he too was entombed alongside her upon his death in 1666 AD.
This still existing screen was put in 1643 AD, replacing an earlier one made of Gold, inlaid with Precious Stones.
