Though the idea of re-experiencing trauma might put you off of meditation, try using safe techniques that occupy and/or saturate the mind instead of stopping it, such as Nature-Based Meditation, or Shaking Meditation.

If you haven’t heard of shaking meditation before you’re not alone. It’s fairly new in terms of main-stream meditations, but has a long history as a Tai Chi warm up routine.

The act of purposely shaking or vibrating can release muscular tension and calm down the nervous system. It also saturates (takes up) your full attention much like taking a slow deep cleansing breath does.
