Hey #Portland #oregon #pdx and nearby people, I have one extra very, very good ticket for Shakti tomorrow (Tues 9/5) night at the Schnitz. It's not cheap, in fact it's pretty expensive unless you compare it to Taylor Swift or Beyoncé tickets, in which case it's extremely reasonable - but we might be able to work out a deal of some kind if you're on a budget and would like to go. The upside is that #shakti is very likely to be some of the best #music you've ever seen in your life, or ever will.

Tonight #Shakti will host a #livestream from the Ryman Auditorium in #Nashville. John Scofield opening on solo electric guitar. Should be a spellbinding night of #music and well worth a watch - particularly for those who can't make it to one of these gigs. Neat and unexpected opportunity.

Hey #Portland #PDX #Oregon #music people, I know of multiple tickets available for #Shakti here next Tuesday, spendy but good seats, highly recommend not missing this show if you can swing it

#Shakti was wondrous.

Venue was mostly filled, but not completely.

Audience was perhaps mostly Zakir fans (south asian/Indian-americans) , with guitar people, and some of us dirty hippies thrown in.

My wife loved it !!

People of Indian background know this rhythms and can clap along.

Us dirty hippies, not so much.
Clap-rest-clap-rest-clap-clap-clap-(tricky part,usually a wave type motion with hand) repeat.

Another note on the #Shakti show tonight..

It is so nice to not have engaged Ticketmaster or Live Nation at all in this exchange.

It is going to be a "runaround" sort of day, I assume the show will be worth it.

Why don't I live in a city where I can just catch the A train to the venue right after work?

My A-train tomorrow will be an hour drive in my car.

Sorry to harsh on the Shakti vibe by sharing the daily pressures of employment and dentist visits.

It will be a really nice break, and I will come home rejuvenated, so it all evens out.. "man"

Sweating out whether #JohnMcLaughlin and #Shakti will get rained out in #CaryNC tonight. Thunderstorms all over but not certain where they'll be. Apart from the possibly missing the show, the venue has a ridiculous no refunds for rained out events.

1. AM, dentist
2. Afternoon Deliver 4 hour training over Zoom
3. Drive one hour and 20 minutes to show
4. Drive home

It might be tempting to spend the night in columbus after the show..

Might look into that.

I think she will, to be honest the mistakes I have made in terms of couples music shows have been my own. Sleep? What was I thinking.

Too many D&C shows.. probably overdid it by 10 shows or so.

Strongly cosign the #Shakti hype. Last time through twenty years ago was one of the best shows I've seen out of over a thousand lifetime. Peak #music experience. Seeing them again in a couple weeks and I couldn't be more thrilled. It is, as noted, pretty damn expensive, but if you can make it happen you should.
