So I've modelled the entire operating theatre that #OptimusPrime dies in in the 1986 animated movie. I modelled it in #shapr3d, which is a really great CAD app for iPad.

I will be taking no questions about why I did this, but it turned out really well.

Soo... step by step my #NeXTcube mini project takes more and more shape. These are the main parts of the enclosure, ready to a final print and first assembly.

Still missing: The mounting brackets for the power supply and the Raspberry Pi (baseboard with compute module 4) as well as the case feets (will be printed with TPU).

Because I make good decisions about what to do with my time, I’m thinking of printing the Matrix of Leadership I modelled at full-size. This is a foam core size reference I made.

Yesterday I reorganized our gear shelves in the garage, and removed the #Decked drawer system from the truck. All without straining my back much worse than it already was.

Also designed a fridge slide (h/t #Shapr3d) and dual-battery system for the truck bed. I’ll share those details once the projects are underway.

This weekend I finished my latest woodworking project! As a former stressed-out software engineer, it's been refreshing to slow down, be present, and create something with my hands. Turns out, there are more similarities between woodworking and software engineering than I thought.

This is a primarily a storage cart that I'll be using around the shop. I still need to organize it a bit more, but at least all the stuff is off the floor now.

I modeled this in #shapr3d on my iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil, exported the model over to Carbide Create, and exported the generated code into Carbide Motion (although I'm currently experimenting with gSender)

@shapr3d@twitter.com The app onboarding process for #shapr3d is INFURIATING and abysmal! Unskippable 15 minute "training", and if you complete training, and the app gets disconnected from login, you have to go through the training AGAIN. ALL I WANTED was to view a step file, and eval the software. Now I've thrown the thing in the rubbish bin because of the time it took to onboard. DUMP the forced tutorial, let people onboard at their own pace, and fix the damn logout issues.

Well this new #ToyBox 3D printer I got for the younglings is awesome! I custom designed (in #shapr3d) and printed comic book stands to lift them a little above my collection!
