I finished "Shareware Heroes" - a history of shareware in the 80's/90's. If you are familiar with that time period you may find it an interesting read. Also has a cool website: sharewareheroes.com/

I was sorting through some CDs, and came across one (from a serie: softs 1, soft 2, etc..) on which I burned various things, including some Shareware games. It was made in 2000.

That's 23 years ago! :0)

"777 Slots" by Ultisoft in Windows version (1999).
I searched on the internet and couldn't find this game. I'll probably send it to archive.org soon!

I strongly recommend reading "Masters of Doom" by David Kushner (Masters of Doom: How Two Guys Created an Empire and Transformed Pop Culture)

If you like stories about games devs, computer history, culture, etc.. It's a fascinating book about how they built the thing & succeed.

Still Episode 1.
The game is much larger than I thought: at some point you come across a room with the map of the Dungeon. Many walls are hidden passages... that I discover too.

& Still no keys found to open dozens of passages encountered.. :0))

At the end of the 90's & beginning of 2000, I used to buy magazines with CDs of compilations of shareware, freeware, demos..

"God Of Thunder" is one of those discoveries.

The Sharewares usually proposed 1 episode for free and totally playable on the 3 episodes of the complete game. This allowed to have a good idea of the potential of a game before a possible purchase.
