I have seen two films in which an astronaut outside the vessel is lost to his crew (and the audience if you’re in deep enough). Both are #altruistic acts. Clooney in ‘Gravity’ and #SharltoCopley in the highly-underrated #EuropaReport’. Both drift finally from their craft in an act of self-sacrifice. In the latter film especially, though the act takes up far less of the story than in ‘Gravity’, Copley’s character seems briefly so much more human than Clooney’s. #Death
