A pair of #HouseSparrows are nesting in a nook under our neighbor's roof, with a clear view from our kitchen. Fascinating to watch the parents come and go, and to see how this makes them more visible to predators. The nest hole has had at least two #crow visits, and an adult sparrow narrowly escaped a #SharpShinnedHawk. None of the predators have been successful so far. #birding

You always know when the hawks are around as the birds are suddenly quiet and that was the case on this winter day. I was checking the trees to see if I could see a hawk and then this #SharpShinnedHawk flew onto the snowy Spruce tree branch. Left with no lunch from my yard!
