I see Shasta County (CA, USA) decided to drop their voting system contract. They've decided to go with all hand-counting. Estimates are they would have to hire 1300 people to do so by this November for a mandated special election, but even then they won't actually have a state certified process & thus a legal election.

What the actual fuck is wrong with people. Little girl changes her mind and doesn't want her 4H goat slaughtered for meat, and the county sends the cops after them, 500 miles away, and with a search warrant allowing them to break down doors.

Girl in question lost three grandparents that year, and couldn't stand losing the goat too. This was just cruelty for cruelty's sake.
