I've #knit a goodly number of #shawls and here's my experience of #blocking - YMMV. NB: untreated animal fibre yarns.
Most of my shawls are majority garter stitch, namely Shetland-style haps. These comprise a large garter triangle, lace border on two sides, and a narrow lace edge to finish those sides.

My bulky weight shawl/wrap is starting to actually look like something. Almost entirely garter stitch which makes it a good 'mindless' project that's enjoyable and relaxing to work on. The coffee/cocoa colors make me feel cozy while working on it.

Oof, kinda fell off the fediverse today... will hopefully catch up tomorrow.. it'll be sketchy since, y'know, this silly Not Solstice thingy happening over the weekend ;p
But hey! Progress on the shawl! It got big enough to move it to a 60" cable but then I had to stop because the cable pulled off the needle, not once but *twice*, so off to Webs I went to order a new one... so the shawl will be paused till it gets here, probly after the hols.

Sheba (aka BooBoo) wanted to confiscate my new knitting project. It's a bulky weight rectangular shawl/wrap in Adriafil "Grinta" yarn blend, on size 9 circular needles.
She blends well with the yarn colors. This tweedy yarn makes me think of dark espresso with creamy foam and chocolate shavings.
