Laminar #ShearStress reduces plasma leakage and #atheroma formation in atheroprotected regions of the aorta through downstream polarization and endocytosis of VE-PTP and resultant activation of #Tie2. #Atherosclerosis can be suppressed by inhibition of VE-PTP in atheroprone regions that lack VE-PTP sequestration.
