This map shows the city's planned fee structure for sidewalk dining, roadways dining. Most boroughs are $6, $5 per square foot, but Manhattan's $10 and up. Spots of Manhattan, sidewalk fees jump from $18 to $31 a sq. ft.!

18 months later, a plan is announced. Fees to the city for sidewalk & for street eating, must close for 4 months of parking(!), but at least there's a plan.

108 followers · 3121 posts · Server mastodonapp.ukI should mention that the Proper Gardener in the family was adamant that "That's a shrub, not a tree.". It looked like a bloody tree to me; and the person who came around with a stump grinder called himself a tree surgeon.
It's also gone.
Replaced with what the Proper Gardener says is a _real_ tree. Although I'm going to keep calling it a stick until it stops being exactly like a stick. (-:

I had a shed that had been pushed over so far by a tree that I could no longer get the door open. It has been since replaced by a new shed, and I never had birds' nests inside. The local cats would have put paid to that in short order.
But I did find a rusted picnic table, several children's toys, and various other oddments buried underneath when I demolished it. (-:

Hoping to find something better than the one we bought last summer (and has just been taken away for refund) that arrived mouldy, had unsealed windows, and let water in...
Am now considering a plastic shed, which makes me feel slightly ill, but I have a feeling it'll outlast anything wooden.
