There is something very fishy about this Demand Flexibility Service.
My own supplier (#ShellEnergy) are not taking part yet, but have made it clear that if I want to take part in the future, I will need to sign up for marketing emails.
And it's not just Shell: E.ON are also only offering it to people who have opted into marketing communications.
Why? I really cannot see why there has to be a link with marketing.

Well, it turns out that they're not taking part in the Demand Flexibility Service after all.
Perhaps the whole thing is just a ruse to get more people to sign up for 3rd party marketing emails?

Has anyone actually managed to sign up to the Demand Flexibility Service?
My supplier (Shell Energy) is in theory taking part, but only if they invite you, which they are only doing for a "select few" of their customers.
And the real kicker is that you have to sign up to receive 3rd-party marketing emails, or they'll never invite you at all.
