I’ve recently gone back to Lucas County Canine Care and Control, Toledo Ohio after a few years volunteering at a smaller shelter. I was one of first volunteers there 12 years ago when they finally got a director who’d allow us. It’s just beyond belief how much it has changed. They average up to 100 adoptable dogs, many who are waiting for months for homes.

Tellin ya, #ShelterDogsInAntlers is a whole different ballgame from #DogsInAntlers. It’s walking through kennel full of dogs all barking Pick me! Pick me! Saying ok who wants to wear the antlers? From there, it’s just roll of the dice. Some don’t care, some hate them and try to get them off. If they do stay on, then I have to get super fast pic because it usually doesn’t last. All around walks and poops and pets and zoomies. It really is a lot of fun. I feel lucky to spend some of my time with these silly lovable dogs. I can’t believe this nice girl has been waiting for her great home since August! Lilith is a medium-sized dog with very soft fur who’s about a year old. She’s understandable a little bouncy when she first goes out but settles in quickly. She loves attention!
