For #ThinSectionThursday, this is the Los Angeles 001 Martian meteorite.
It is a #shergottite that was recovered in the 1970s by a rockhound in the Mojave Desert. It was not recognized as a #meteorite until 1999. Los Angeles 001 originates from the planet #Mars and is one of the only Martian meteorites recovered in the USA.
