I'm pretty sure these two security guards were there to specifically watch me because I had a 300mm lens. Like I mentioned before, it's not a photography-friendly place, even if the open air makes the actual viewing deck a safer place now that we have an endemic deadly infection.

The only viewing deck I've been to since the start of the pandemic was . I took the risk at a time when I was vaccinated and infections were low, and I'm not sure that it was worth it. The glass you have to shoot through is not good, the elevator and lobby are COVID traps, and they do not let you bring your tripod or camera bag, so be comfortable leaving expensive gear in a cheap coin locker that staff are not watching. I'd tell tourists to give it a pass in the pre-pandemic times.

Here's another photo from the time I went to . I know it looks bladerunnered, but this was during blue hour, and it legit looked like that. Also, don't go there. There are COVID traps before you get outside into the fresh air, they charge too much money, and they are super restrictive about what you can bring actually out to the place where you want to take photos. I'm glad I went when I did, but don't go.

I went to the new outdoor viewing deck in Shibuya when I was in that window of vaccine effectiveness which coincided with an infection trough in 2021. Somehow this panorama was unremarkable to me at the time, so I didn't get around to stitching it together until today. Where are the Shibuyas of yesteryear?
