I want an NVIDIA Shield, but have been holding off because it feels like very soon would be the time they'd put out a new version if they intend to. The main goal - playing my PC games on the TV via Streaming.

I know this is pretty specific, but I've been using the official #twitch app for my Nvidia #shieldtv box forever, and the recent update was totally garbage.

I found an alternative #opensource project here: https://github.com/fgl27/SmartTwitchTV/releases or from Google Play directly here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fgl27.twitch that works incredibly well and also has neat picture in picture options.

By pure chance, I just discovered that #NVidia will kill their support for #GameStream. Pretty disappointing, as it has been my main reason to purchase a #ShieldTV Pro. I even recommended it to friends for this exact feature.

Looks like I'll have about 1.5–2 months to check out and test alternatives. #Sunshine/#Moonshine seem to be the internet's choices. They would also have the upside of being FOSS. Other recommendations welcome.

Gleichzeitig wird auf den Produktseiten aber noch damit geworben.

Die Nvidia Shield Android TV Box ist mit Abstand die beste auf den Markt.
Trotzdem sollte jeder Käufer wissen, dass hier eine Rückzahlung oder ähnliches Möglich ist, da versprochene Features die Teil der Produktbeschreibung und Werbung sind entfernt werden. Vllt ist ja so zumindest ein Rabatt möglich bevor man ganz vom Vertrag zurück tritt.
